하드리아누스 문(The Temple of Hadrian).

도미티안 신전이후 두 번째로 로마 황제를 위해 만들어진 신전이다. 2세기 경에 지어진 이 건물은 하드리안 황제와 에페소의 시민, 아르테미스 여신을 위해 지어졌다. 건물은 다른 유적들과 마찬가지로 많은 부분 손실되었지만 남아있는 부분만으로도 그 아름다움을 충분히 짐작할 수 있다. 첫번째 문에는 그리스 신화에 나오는 운명의 여신 니케의 조각이 있고 두번째 문에는 메두사가 조각되어있다. 메두사의 얼굴은 부적과도 같이 여겨져 그리스나 로마시대에 만들어진 것들에는 조각으로 남겨져 있기도 한다. 4개의 기둥 중 2개는 원형이고 2개는 사각기둥으로 만들어져 있다. 2개는 아치를 이루고 있는데 조각이 무척이나 아름다워 에페소에서 제일이라는 평가를 받고 있기도 한다. 안으로 들어가면 아테네, 아폴로신 등 여러 신들이 조각되어 있으며 데오도시우스 황제와 그의 아버지, 아내, 아들도 조각되어 있다.

P. Vedius Antoninus Sabinus donated the small, temple-like monument which, according to a building inscription, honoured Emperor Hadrian (A.D. 117-138)

The colonnade in front of the cella supports a so-called Syrian gable. The reliefs over the door lintel depicting the Ephesian foundation myth belong to a late antique rebuilding. Around A.D. 300 statues of the emperors Diocletian, Constantius, Maximianus & later Theodosius I were erected, of which inscribed bases are preserved.
