The two-storey, triple-aisled Basilica Stoa ('Royal Colonnade') was donated by C. Sextilius Pollio & built in A.D. 11. This Ionic building, one of the most significant constructions in the city, could be entered via a flight of four steps: the fron facade had 67 columns, the side aisles were 4.72 m & the middle aisle was 6.85 m wide.

The monumental seated statues of the Imperial couple Augustus (27 B.C. - 14 A.D.) & Livia, today displayed in the Ephesos Museum in Selcuk, were placed on a pedestal to the east.
