Palazzo Marino is Milan’s city hall since 1861.

The project for the building was created by architect Galeazzo Alessi from Perugia  in 1558.

The name of the building is due to Tommaso Marino, a rich Genoan merchant who became wealthy in Milan and wished to make it his private home.

The construction was interrupted in 1570 when Alessi left,  it was then completed at the end of the 19th century by architect Luca Beltrami.

Palazzo Marino turns into a Palace Museum.

A guided tour takes the visitor inside the palace, Milan's Town Hall, rich in art and history.

It is a unique opportunity to discover new halls, such as Sala delle Tempere, Sala degli Arazzi, Sala della Trinita and Sala della Resurrezione. These will be added to the ones the Milanese public is already familiar with: Sala Alessi, Sala del Consiglio, Sala Urbanistica and Sala dell'Orologio.

The tour is free of charge.
