Chateau De Versailles

Domaine De Versailles

You are going to visit the Palace & the gardens of Versailles which are among the most illustrious monuments of the world & constitute the finest & the most complete achievement of the French art of the 17th century. The old brick & stone chateau of Louis XIII was transformed & expanded by his son Louis XIV who installed here the Court & the seat of the Government in 1682, thus making Versailles the capital of the kingdom. The town built around the Palace offers many testimonies of this rich past (churches, town houses, old squares & streets...). on 6 October 1789, the monarchy definitively left Versailles. In 1837, king Louis-Philippe inaugurated in the Palace, a museum dedicated to "All the glories of France".

Thanks to the richness & the diversity of the visits proposed, plan your day & discover the splendours of Versailles. From the Royal Courtyard, take the different tours of the Palace & then, after crossing the gardens & the groves, visit the Chateaux of Trianon & the Marie-Antoinette's Estate. Beyond the gardens of the Petit Parc, you can explore then the Grand Parc & its Grand Canal, ideal for rambles & hikes.
