Construction of the Church of Saint Dominic began in the 16th century on the site of the main chamber of the Incas' most important temple. Its tower is adorned with baroque-style carvings. The series of paintings “Life of Saint Vincent Ferrer”, by the Cusco-born artist Marcos Zapata (18th century), decorates the interior of the church.
