Adventure Activities

- The first European to see and market the Falls to the outside world was David Livingstone

    during his 1852-56 journey from the upper Zambezi to the mouth of the river

- He named the falls after Queen Victoria in England

- The local name for the site is Mosi-oa-Tunya (Meaning the smoke that thunders).

 

Highest recorded flow in 1958 at 12,800 m3/s.
