Radar Station - 1943
It was on this site that a newly designed 10 cm Admiralty NT 273 S transmitter/receiver was hurriedly erected in 1943 in response to increased enemy U-boat. (submarine) attacks on allied convoys. This station was developed and manned by the South African Defense Force. Special Signal Services (SSS). Later the foundation was converted into the present lookout.
