The two smaller Inca chambers, located on the northern side of the complex, once formed part of the main temple of the Inca empire, known as the “Qorikancha” (“golden enclosure”), devoted to the celestial deities (sun, moon, stars, rainbow, lightning). The chambers were roofed with wood and thatch structures.
