도데, 고흐와 관련된 곳으로, 고흐가 사랑한 마을 "아를"이라고도 불리며 프랑스 프로방스 알프코트다쥐르주 부슈뒤론현에 있는 도시이다.

8~13세기에는 프랑스 남부에 있는 모든 왕국의 수도가 되었으며, 중세에는 무역항으로서 번영하였다. 유럽에서 가장 아름다운 도시의 하나로 프로방스의 도시답게 강렬한 햇빛과 색채가 인상적인 곳이다.

 

Vincent Van Gogh

In February 1888, the painter Vincent Van Gogh came to live in the center of Arles. In spite of

his short stay, he painted his most famous paintings (nearly 200) here, A walking tour is marked out in the city center and dotted with reproductions of some of the paintings he painted on

those very spots. Ask for the brochure at the Tourist Office.

 

The Amphitheater (arena) - E3

Build around 90 AD, could hold 21,000 spectators

 

The Roman Theater - E4
