Built between the 12th and 16th centuries, and strengthened at its basement a century later,

the bell tower of the monolithic church is Saint-Emilion’s highest point. Climbing its 196 steps

may be a challenge, but the breathtaking view over the city and the Jurisdiction that awaits at

the top is a great reward.

Under the bell tower, the remarkable monolithic church was carved out of solid rock between

the end of the 11th and the beginning of the 12th century. Its gigantic proportions make of it
