Meet our Front fo House

Manager and Head Chef

Ella joined Marlowe's in the winter of 2013 and soon agreed to becomhe Head Chef. assisting Mike and overseeing the kitchen in his absence. Ella has built up much experience both locally and in her native Ireland.

 

Alex joined Marlowes as Front of House Manage in July 2014, bringing with him his own unique style of management, a qualification in Travel and Tourism and valuable experiende gained within the local area.

 

Within this beatiful and historic restaurant, often described as a 'hidden gem' owners Mike (Chef) and Diane (hostess) serve fine menu accompanied by excellent wines and traditional, English hospitality.

 

Follow the small corridor leading, from the High Street, then, ascend the flight of steps, and arrive on our patio. This covered area, with an outdoor feel, is ideal for 'al fresco' dining.

 

From the patio, step into our lounge bar, with its sofas, original beams and a blazing log fire, in the winter, a delightful setting to enjoy a pre- dinner dring and select from our menu and wine list, in comfort.

 

Elizabethan Dining Room

Once shown to your talbe, you will dine in the same magnificent surroundings as have many famous actors over Marlowe's long association with Stratford-upon-Avon and The Royal Shakespeare Theatres.

 

Traditional oak panelling and ancient oak beams enhance the historic atmosphere enjoyed by Paul Schofield, Anthony Quayle, Vanessa Redgrave, Sir John Gielgud, Sir Alec Guiness, Sir Ralph Richardson and many others, whose kindly donated autographed photographs hang in our lounge bar.

 

Our comfortable lounge bar is open to non-diners where our front of house staff we will be pleased to serve you drinks from our extensive selection of wines, beers and spirits.

Due to our central location, Marlowes is an ideal venue for private parties, business meetings and corporate dining.
