World Heritage Site

 

 

Visitor Information

Opening hours:

January-February                      9.00-5.00

March                                     9.00-6.00

April-September                       9.00-7.00

October                                  9.00-6.00

November-December                9.00-5.00

 

Last admissions one hour before published closing times.

 

Closed 24-26 December

 

Admission Prices:

(2 adults + up to 3 children under 17 years, under 5's free)

 

National Trust Members              Free

 

Public access on foot to the Causeway stones is free.

If you avail of any of the Visitor Centre services, including parking, ticket charges will apply.

 

Warning:

High winds forecast

 

To enjoy your viist and help us to look after this special place for everyone please be aware:

Cycles are not permitted on trails

Protects plants and animals and take your litter home

Keep your dog under close control and on a lead Pick up and dispose of dog waste carefully

Due to the sensitive nature of the World Heritage Site, camping is not permitted.

Please be considerate of other people.

 

 

Green Trail

Difficulty : Easy

Time : 15 minutes from Causeway Hotel to picnic site and view point, 700 m

Access : Level 2m wde formal path, Linear, Hard core surface, Rest stops with seats

Caution : Unfenced cliff edge, High winds

Guide : Audio guide available.

Trail network : Trail joins with the Causeway Coast Way (Yellow Trail)

 

Blue Trail

Difficulty : Moderate

Time : 25 minutes from Visitor Centre to Giant's Causeway (allow time at the Causeway), 1.2Km

Access : Formal hardcore footpath with kerb stones, Steep gradient in places,

            Some rest stops with seats

Caution : Bus route runs parallel to this footpath, Rock falls,

             Causeway stones uneven and slippery when wet (avoid splash zone)

Guide : Audio guide available

Trail network : Option to continue around bay and join Red Trail

 

Red Trail

Diffiulty : Diffiucult

Time : 35 minutes from trail head to the Shepherd's Steps, 1.2km,

          90 minutes circular route when linking with Blue Trail, 3 km.

Access : Formal path, Hard core gravel surface, Uneven in places, Single track in places,

             Steep stone steps (162) with handrail, uneven and with various depths

Caution : Unfenced cliff edge, High winds, Steep steps, Rock falls.

Guide : No audio guide available

Trail network : Optional route to Amphitheatre viewpoint (5 minutes),

                    Trail joins Causeway Coast Way (Yellow Trail) at top of Shepherd's Steps,
                    Circular trail available by joining Blue Trail.

 

Yellow Trail

Difficulty : Challenging

Time : The Causeway Coast Way, a long distance walking trail, which incorporates a section

          of the Ulster Way national walking trail,

          53 Km (Portstewart to Ballycastle)

Access : Variety of surfaces, some informal tracks with no clearly defined paths,

             Beach, rocky sea shore, grass path, formal paths and promenades

Caution : Unfenced cliff edges, High winds, Steep gradients, Rock falls, High tides,

             Traffic on road sections

Giant's Causeway and Causeway Coast inscribed on the World Heritage List in 1986


"파마콜이라는 거인이 바다 건너에 사는 적을 무찌르러 가기 위해 만든 길" 이라하여 자이언트 코즈웨이라 불리우는 이 관광지는 북아일랜드 북쪽끝에 있는 영국의 자이언트 코즈웨이 해안에 있다. 무수히 많은 육각형의 돌기동들이 밀려오는 파도를 가로 막듯이 빈틈없이 늘어서 있는데 이 돌기둥들은 하나하나가 벌집처럼 매우 규칙바르게 늘어져 있어 꼭 사람이 만들어 놓은 것 처럼 보인다. 제주도의 주상절리와 흡사하다.세계자연유산으로 등록되어 있다.
