Restoration study Dom Tower

The restoration study of the Dom Tower has begun ! Up to 70 metres high, the study is study out with a crane (starting 11 September). Above that, up to 95 metres, the restoration architect will study the Dom from scaffolding. Building of this scaffolding will take about six weeks and starts mid-September 2017. The section between 70 and 95 metres is called the lantern, which is the octagonal part of the Dome Tower.

The restoration study and restoration plan will be completed in the first half of 2018. once a decision has been taken, restoration of the Dom Tower will start at the end of 2018. Scaffolding will then be erected around the entire tower.

During the examination of the lantern, the stones are manually tapped and inspected in detail. The stones are also photographed. As complete scaffolding from the ground is only needed when restoration work starts, the Dom will slightly longer remain visible to residents and visitors of the city. Having a height of 112 metres, the tower will remain open to visitors during the study (except during a few days during the direct assembly of the scaffolding around the lantern).

In order to be able to build scaffolding at this height, a construction site will be set up, a building lift placed along the north side of the tower and two safety platforms will be built. The construction site, lift and safety platforms will be dismantled once the scaffolding is ready, which is expected in early November 2017.

교회(Domkerk)의 맞은편에는 고딕 양식의 종루인 돔 탑(Domtoren)이 위치하고 있으며, 14세기 무렵부터 건설되기 시작하여 약 60년간 건설(1321년~1382년)되었습니다. 돔 탑의 높이는 약 112m로 네덜란드에서 가장 큰 종루입니다.

성마르틴 대성당(St. Martin's Cathedral)의 일부이다.

1647년 Tornado 로 성당의 일부분이 파괴되어 성당과 분리되었다.
