15. The Chapel

It is built on four levels attached inside the western side of the Middle Fortress with desk-shaped roof initially having defensive role. The building in the XVIIth century was the dwelling of the Fortress chaplain, when a series of arrangements have been made including the ramps and cross vaults decorated with stucco relief in the vertical circulations. Two religious inscriptions from the 1650s to 1718, now lost, seem to justify the function of place of worship that has been given by some researchers.
