The Covered Stairway(Scara Şcolarilor)

Scholar's Stairs was built in 1642 and connected the lower part to the upper part of the citadel of Sighişoara.

The main purpose was to allow people to reach the church and the school easily in winter time, obviating the problems caused by the snow.

In the beginning, there were 300 steps but now only 176 remain.

Musicians play guitar near the stairs.
