Non Violence

The sculpture "Non-Violence", was originally created as a memorial tribute to John Lennon when he was shot and killed in New York, 1980. In 1988 it was planned outside the headquarters of United Nations. Non-Violence sculptures are featured at more than 30 prestigious public settings and major museums including the Olympic Museum in Lausanne as well as in Beijing. Miami, Curitiba, Stockholm, Honolulu, Madrid, Washington, Paris and Moscow. It has also been present at historical events such as at the fall of the Berlin Wall. during the Perestroika in Moscow and at ceremonies at Trafalgar Square in London.

 

In 1993 the sculpture became the symbol for The Non-Violence Project Foundation which is an international youth education and leadership initiative, promoting social change. The objectives of the foundation are to inspire, motivate and engage young people in positive action and to reduce youth violence. The Non-Violence Project has to date (2011) educated more than five million youth, teachers and coaches on five continents. The Non-Violence Project Foundation is also spearheading the biggest global call on internet for peace and non-violence-Imagine one Billion Faces For Peace - IOBFFP.
