 The only remain of this magnificent 12th century palace is the part once integrated in the

surrounding wall, and situated in the extension of the city’s main gate Porte Bourgeoise.

The monument’s name comes from Gaillard de la Mothe, Pope Clement V’s nephew, and

archbishop of Bordeaux, later given the title of Cardinal de Sainte-Luce.
