영국이 낳은 세계 최고의 시인 겸 극작가, 윌리엄 셰익스피어의 도시로 알려진 이 곳은 영국의 문화 유산 도시라는 칭호를 가지고 있다. 셰익스피어가 태어난 매력적인 워릭셔의 소도시이며 셰익스피어가 첫울음을 터뜨린 생가를 아직도 방문할 수 있다. 뿐만 아니라 셰익스피어 부인이 자랐던 집과 셰익스피어의 무덤도 볼 수 있고 왕립 셰익스피어 극단(Royal Shakespeare Company)에서 연극을 관람할 수 있다. 셰익스피어와 관련된 여러 건축물과 공연을 감상할 수 있다. 무엇보다 소도시에서 풍기는 평화로움과 아름다운 주변 환경이 여유로움을 느끼게 한다.
