Ticket Office

Ticket office for regular ticket sales. Visitor Information is located nearby for Members of Historic Scotland, English Heritage, Groups and Travel Trade and for help with any other enquiries.

 

Portcullis Gift Shop

Located next to the ticket office, this is the largest Historic Scotland gift shop in the castle and offers an extensive range of quality gifts and souvenirs.

Admission tickets scanned here for entry into Edinburgh Castle.

 

Audio Guide Pick Up

Audio guided tours can be hired either online or directly from the Audio Guide Pick Up point. It is located just after the portcullis gate inside the castle. Available in 8 different languages.

 

Redcoat Cafe

Enjoy a variety of hot and cold meals at this self-service cafe.  It also boasts fantastic views across Edinburgh.

 

One o'clock Gun

Gather at 1pm to see the master gunner fire the gun - every day except Sundays, Good Friday and Christmas Day.

Fired almost every day since 1861, it is a tradition remaining from the days when it was a time signal for ships in the Firth of Forth and the port of Leith.

 

National War Museum of Scotland

Discover the story of Scots at war over 400 years, revealed through personal mementoes, photographs and military objects. The building was originally an ordnance storehouse, built in 1755.

Located in the old Fire Station, adjacent to St Margaret's Chapel, this shop offers the very best of Scottish food and drink.

 

St Margaret's Chapel

Take a quiet moment in St Margaret's Chapel, built by David I around 1130 and the oldest building in Edinburgh.

 

Mons Meg

This mighty medieval siege gun is one of the world's oldest, it could fire a gunstone almost two miles.

 

Scotish National War Memorial

Originally opened in 1927, this is a memorial to Scots who died in both World Wars, and in later campaigns. Their names are listed here in the Roll of Honour. The building incorporates scenes from the First World War in stone, bronze and stained glass.

 

Stone of Destiny

Used in coronations for centuries, the enigmatic Stone was taken from Scotland to England by Edward I in 1296 and not finally returned until 1996.

 

The Royal Palace

This includes the Birth Chamber and Laich Hall, Crown Room and 'Honours of the Kingdom' exhibition. These fine rooms were the home of Scotland's royalty for centuries, where Queen Marie de Guise died in 1560 and her daughter Mary Queen of Scots gave birth to James VI in 1566.

Marvel at Scotland's glittering crown jewels, the Honours of the Kingdom; and see the enigmatic Stone of Destiny, Scotland's ancient Coronation Stone.

The Great Hall

An original hammerbeam roof dating from 1511 is just one fascinating feature of the impressive Great Hall.

This includes the 'Prisons of War' exhibition. A highly acclaimed 'Prisons of War' experience in the castle vaults vividly recalls the conditions the 18th century captives endured.

에든버러 성은 스코틀랜드 에든버러에 있는 성이다.

캐슬 록이라는 바위산 위에 세워진 고대의 요새로 에딘버러의 상징이다.

스코틀랜드에서는 글래스고의 켈빈그로브 미술관 및 박물관 다음으로 많은 관광객이 찾아온다. 인간의 정착은 기원전 9세기 전후부터로 알려져있다. 성내에서 가장 오래된 12세기 초기의 건축물인 세인트 마가렛 예배당을 제외하면 성의 건축물의 일부는 16세기 이전의 것이다. 많은성이 마찬가지로 에딘버러 성은 군사 활동의 중심지였다
