The president of Iceland,

Mr. Olafur Ragnar Grimsson

opened new facilities by the

Blue Lagoon on the 15th of

July 1999.

This lava rock marks the

beginning of the development

of the new facilities by the

Blue Lagoon. The rock is a

part of illahraun, the lava field

that surrounds the Blue Lagoon

and was formed in 1226.

Mr. Edvard Juliusson, the chairmen

if the Blue Lagoon's Ltd. Board

of directors, removed the rock

on the 7th of April 1998
