Klianti House
Klianti House is one of the oldest ooden frame residential buildings, from the Bulgarian Revival period in the Ancient Plovdiv architectural and historic reserve.
Dating back from the middle of the XVIII century, Klianti House represents the early asymmetrical house in Plovdiv.
The rich decorative emblazonry is impressive, while the so called himala - a transitional space between two storeys - is one-of-a- kind on the territory of the reserve.
Over the long period of its existence, the house has changed several owners and today it has the name of its first owner - the merchant of woolen fabrics Klianti.
Klianti house was declared a "national antiquity" in 1945 and in 1995 an architectural and artistic monument of culture of national importance. The research and the restoration of the building began in 1971. They passed through several stages and were completed in 2017, when the house was awarded the "Building of the year" award.
