1881 Caraiman Hotel

In 1881, when Roumania was declared a kingdom and Carol I was crowned King, The Board of Civil Hospitals gives use, in Sinaia, to the thind hotel, all rooms having a park view and a pool with a large water fountain. The first manager of the Caraiman Hotel was the Austrian Josef Ungarth.

In 1903 the hotel is extended with a floor and attic and the exterior side of the hotel was changed after a project of the arhitect Petre Antonescu, reaching today's shape. During the two World Wars it was used as a hospital for the wounded.
