The Hall of Honour(Holul de onoare)

The main reception hall was built between 1910-1911 according to the projects of Karel Liman who has had as source of inspiration renowned German Renaissance models: the Fredenhagen Hall (Hans Dreger, 1583) of the nowadays Commerce Palace from Lübeck and the Townhall of Bremen (the spiral staircase). The walnut wood decoration, the bas-reliefs of alabaster and the panels made of marquetery depicting castles from German and Switzerland of the Hohenzollern family have been manufactured in the Bernhard Ludwig workshop (Vienna). There are on display French Aubusson tapestries dating from the 18th century, armchairs covered with Beauvais tapestry and Cordoban leather and two original chests dating from the 17th century. The ceiling of glass is decorated with stained glass windows and it was made late 19th century by F.X.Zettler workshops from Munich and it can be opened electrically.
